Franklin Primary Health Center announced today that it will host the 2026 Franklin Buskey Gala on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Mobile Convention Center. The event will celebrate more than five decades of service to the community and honor the enduring legacy of Franklin’s Founders. The evening will feature a keynote address by the Honorable Shomari C. Figures, United States Congressman for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District. Congressman Figures, a Mobile native, is a nationally respected voice on healthcare access, economic opportunity, and public service. His remarks will highlight the critical role community health centers play in improving health outcomes and promoting equity for underserved populations. “Franklin Primary Health Center was founded in 1975 on the belief that quality healthcare is a basic human right for everyone, no matter who they are or what they have,” said Charles White, Chief Executive Officer of Franklin Primary Health Center. “The Franklin Buskey Gala allows us to honor the legacy of Dr. James Alexander Franklin, Dr. Marilyn Aiello, and Representative James E. Buskey.” The 2026 Franklin Buskey Gala will serve as both a celebration of past and present progress and a call to action for the future. The evening will include the presentation of the Franklin Buskey Community Health Services Award. This award, presented in memory of our founders, will recognize a deserving individual who embodies their success and commitment to expanding access to primary health care.
