Ballin' on Belrose Run

Ballin' on Belrose Run

Saturday, May 10, 2025 (7:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

68 Ventures and the Cox Family Foundation will once again host the fourth annual Ballin' on Belrose event in Olde Towne Daphne on Saturday, May 10th. Registration opens at 7 a.m., and the race begins at 8 a.m. at Belrose Park on Belrose Avenue in Daphne. Ballin' on Belrose will benefit the Baller Dream Foundation. It is a day of fun for all ages with DJ music, sponsor booths, food and drink, VIP Tent, a kids' play area, face painting, photo ops and more. Named "Ballin'" for the Baller Dream Foundation, the event aims to raise funds to support the foundation's efforts in supporting, comforting, and offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences to lift the spirits of children and young adults battling cancer

The 29029 Everesting Challenge inspired this event and has been adapted into a family-friendly, local event. Mount Everest is 29,029 feet tall, meaning its formidable peak is 5.5 miles above sea level. Using that elevation as our inspiration, we created a walk/run challenge where racers will travel a linear distance of 29,029 ft uphill on Belrose Avenue (plus trekking back down the hill between each climb, making the challenge a total of 10.5 miles).

Our "Everest Challenge," inspired by the brave climbers who ascend Mount Everest, is a community event appropriate for racers of all ages and fitness levels. Climb the hill just once or ascend it 11 times to complete the challenge—it's all about showing up and having fun.

You can choose to race as an individual or a family and run/walk up the hill of Belrose Ave. as many times as you can. Whether you complete one lap uphill or all 11, we want you and everyone with you to have a good time! If you plan to give it your all, the male and female first-place kid, adult, and senior racers will all receive medals.

You can also get a group together and participate as a team. When signing up, give us your team's name. During the race, each team member will compete one at a time. Each time one of your team members ascends the Belrose hill, your team will get credit and be one lap closer to reaching the goal of 11.

We wanted to go bigger by donating an additional $22,500 to a local nonprofits. We challenge all Baldwin County-based nonprofits to bring as many supporters as possible to compete. The nonprofit with the most completed laps up the hill will win $10,000, 2nd place for $7,500 and a 3rd place for $5,000.

Pricing

Registration as a participant either as an individual or a part of the team is $25 and the cost for participants with a non-profit is $15 per person.
