The Excelsior Band Preservation is proud to announce its inaugural "Keep the Music Playing" fundraiser on Sunday, November 16, from 3:00 – 5:30 PM, at Byrne Hall, Spring Hill College. This special event aims to raise crucial funds to support the Preservation’s mission of safeguarding the rich history and ensuring the vibrant future of The Excelsior Band, which will celebrate its 142nd anniversary in November 2025.

Attendees will enjoy an enchanting afternoon of live music featuring performances by the legendary Excelsior Band, The Jazz Studio, and The Jazz Studio alumni band. The Jazz Studio, now in its 11th year, is a year-round jazz immersion program dedicated to nurturing musical talent in 6th-12th grade students from the Greater Mobile area. Classes are held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at the Murphy Fine Arts Building, Spring Hill College.

In addition to the captivating musical performances, the fundraiser will include a silent auction and refreshments. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to view a rendering of the future home of The Excelsior Band, the historic Ace Theater.
