EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience managing social media strategy and creating content for a company or organization
  • 2-5 years of experience managing email marketing campaigns
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem-solve simultaneous projects with multiple deadlines
  • Copywriting, verbal communication, and project management skills required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to understand basic industry terms and trends in marketing, communications, and social media
  • Organized, self-starter with good time management skills
  • Flexibility to carry out responsibilities on evenings or weekends, and to travel as needed

POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Media & Digital Content Manager will work to grow the Visit Mobile digital presence including engaging and retaining followers through social media and the Visit Mobile website with the focus of converting them into potential visitors. This position will also ensure the Visit Mobile brand and message is visually consistent and clearly communicated to visitors, the travel industry, partners, and the community.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media Marketing

  • Lead social media strategy to achieve annual KPI goals, drive traffic to the website and regularly promote PR successes
  • Monitor and engage daily in relevant social discussions about Visit Mobile, the city, and the industry on Visit Mobile social platforms professionally and in line with brand standards
  • Create a monthly social media content calendar to ensure a consistent online presence across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Cross-functional collaboration with the MarComm, Partnership and Sales teams for content ideas
  • Track industry partner social media mentions in CRM
  • Identify target audiences and collaborate on budget for paid social media advertising and promotion
  • Represent Visit Mobile at community events to capture and ensure social coverage
  • Support the MarComm team with creator and influencer relations, including identifying potential partners, coordinating outreach, and assisting with hosted creator visits and content collaborations
  • Assist with creator and influencer partnership execution, including coordinating itineraries and logistics, tracking content deliverables, and monitoring resulting social media coverage and engagement

Content Development

  • Manage Visit Mobile’s blogs; update existing blogs as identified by the SEO team and create new blogs as strategically needed
  • Work closely with the MarComm team to create an annual content strategy that aligns with the marketing plan, SEO recommendations and KPIs
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices and monitor content activities of competitor websites
  • Write new and original content for the website and social media

Email Marketing

  • Write and manage Visit Mobile’s monthly leisure e-newsletters
  • Craft copy in line with brand standards
  • Write and manage trade show pre-mailers for the convention sales team
  • Review analytic data and implement optimizations to improve results
  • Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Communication to increase e-newsletter subscribers through new and existing strategies
  • Creatively implement new concepts and design layouts to keep emails looking fresh, in collaboration with the MarComm team
