Description
Develops and conducts training and technical assistance activities for business and industry, heavily focused on manufacturing companies, in the area of Leadership and Management Development. Delivers class presentations and facilitates associated activities.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to adhering to the policies and procedures as specified by the Alabama Technology Network, the host college, and the Alabama Community College System, duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develops, and/or implements technical assistance and training projects for business and industry in the area of Leadership & Management Development
- Delivers projects as assigned.
- Delivers class presentations and facilitates associated activities.
- Travel to deliver and/or assist with Leadership and Management Development Team projects as needed throughout the state, required. Occasional overnight travel required (approved travel reimbursed.)
- Prepares reports, statistical data, and general information for use in evaluating the effectiveness of Leadership & Management Development programs implemented for clients.
- Submits documentation and reports to the Director or Central Office as requested.
- Collaborates on projects and activities with other ATN staff throughout the state.
- Collaborates on projects and activities with the Alabama Community College System.
- Participates in all Leadership & Management Development Team activities and on ATN committees as requested.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Prepares documents for training, including but not limited to, sign-in sheets, hand-outs, manuals, and class evaluations.
- Works with clients to complete client satisfaction surveys and impact surveys.
- Participates in the formulation and implementation of Leadership & Management Development product line, operations, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Completes activities with companies within the goals and objectives developed each year.
- Collaborates and communicates with employees of the host college.
- Promotes ATN within civic, professional, technical, and industrial organizations and other agencies.
- Utilizes Enterprise Planning Resource system, NetSuite, to record time and expenses in a timely manner.
- Adheres to National Institute of Standards and Technology/Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST/MEP) guidelines and procedures.
- Maintains professional credentials and participates in meetings and conference of relevant professional organizations as required.
- Assists with Team efforts of business development, sales and relationship development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends hours.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Education and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Technical Business, Engineering Management, Human Resources or equivalent area from an accredited institution.
- NOTE: Ten (10) years full-time work experience in Business Administration, Business Management, Leadership & Management Development, Engineering Management, or Human Resources may be accepted in lieu of degree requirement.
- At least five (5) years of full-time work experience in the area of manufacturing leadership, business administration, business management, leadership & management development, or human resources in business, industry or manufacturing.
- Understanding of related products and services of Leadership & Management Development training.
- Experience with facilitation or training in manufacturing, business, and/or industry.
- Excellent presentation, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365.
- Ability to work independently and as part of at team.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of DiSC Assessment or other personality profiles.
- Experience with one or more of ATN’s service delivery specialties: Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Maintenance Technology, and/or Continual Improvement.
- Experience in business development, sales, marketing, or public relations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Technical Business, Engineering Management, Human Resources or equivalent area from an accredited institution.
Supplemental Information
The selected candidate will be assigned to the ATN-Mobile Office at Bishop State Community College, Mobile, Alabama. Employees are expected to report to the assigned location in person unless they are travelling for ATN business purposes.
Salary: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Technology Network’s Salary Schedule T-3 ($66,411 - $108,987) to be determined by the applicant's education and years of applicable experience.
