Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast is the largest one-to-one mentoring organization in south Alabama and Mississippi. We are not your typical organization. We enlist adult volunteers, “Bigs,” and match them with “Littles,” who are children between the ages of 6-15, come from a single parent/guardian home and would benefit the most from having a caring, adult mentor in their life. The Corporate Big Program is a flexible School-based or Community-based mentoring opportunity that creates major impact in our community. Companies can join our Corporate Big Program and directly affect High School Dropout Rates, Workforce Development, and Increase the well-being of children and families in our community. In our School-based Program, we pair each company with a school in close proximity and the company allows those who want to participate to leave work one hour a week for the duration of the school year to meet with their mentee at school, during school hours. Our Community-based Program allows mentoring outside of school hours and can include fun activities like attending a sports game or eating at a restaurant. We encourage anyone who would like to give of their time and talents to reach out and see how they canvolunteer.
